Contraindications: Not suited for long-term use, not to be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding, not recommended for children under 12, can interfere with colorimetric urine tests by turning urine greenish-brown. May cause retinal thinning due to hydroquinone content, which inhibits melanin synthesis. Should be avoided in those with kidney disease. Doses over 15 grams can be toxic.

Herb-Drug Interaction: Caution when taking lithium, as Uva Ursi may reduce its excretion, potentially increasing levels due to its diuretic effects. Avoid while taking medications that acidify the urine.
